Shelburne Deck House

ARCHITECT: Brad Rabinowitz PHOTOS: Lindsay Selin Photography

The design work for this renovation was done by Brad Rabinowitz and included a rework of the kitchen, bathrooms, replacement of first floor columns with an exposed beam, and the conversion of a screen porch to an office. Brad worked carefully with the clients to preserve the atheistic of the original Deck House design while incorporating changes to layout and updates. All finish details including the custom wood light valences, were coordinated to match the original Mahogany and Douglass Fir finishes of this Deck house. The cherry kitchen cabinets are locally built, as is the bathroom Sapele vanity. In addition to a modern kitchen, this renovation opened up the 1st-floor layout and re-lit the space with a new lighting plan.
